Judy A. Hiell, NMD
Dr. Judy Hiell pursued her bachelor of science in Pre-med Studies at the State University of New York at Purchase and the University of Arizona. She received her naturopathic medical degree from Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington. She has been in private practice in Tucson, Arizona, since 1995.
Dr. Hiell has received additional postgraduate training in numerous areas of study including women's healthcare, adjunctive cancer therapies, mind-body techniques, and metabolic medicine. For two years, she served as the naturopathic preceptor in the weekly case conferences held at the Program for Integrative Medicine with Dr. Andrew Weil at the University of Arizona. She is a monthly featured columnist for the Women to Women series in the Journal of Longevity and is a writer for various other publications. She has lectured around the country on topics including herbal medicine, women's healthcare and menopausal issues, and other topics in natural healthcare.
Dr. Hiell is the founder and director of
NatureMedica Detox Spa and Naturopathic Clinic. This brand new facility, that opened April of 2008, is located at One West Wetmore, Ste. 101 in Tucson. We are on Wetmore, between Stone and Oracle, in a 2 story brown brick building, across from Macy's at the Tucson Mall. Hours are Monday through Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm. First appointments are approximately one hour and follow-ups last between 15-30 minutes. Phone appointments can be arranged. Some insurances that are PPO's (not HMO's) may cover the visit, however payment is expected at the time of the visit and an insurance-ready form for submitting to insurance companies for personal reimbursement will be supplied. It is helpful to bring in any current bloodwork or other diagnostic test results, a list of current medications and natural supplements (including manufacturer) to the first appointment.
