Dr. Judy Hiell pursued her bachelor of science in Pre-med Studies at the State University of New York at Purchase and the University of Arizona. She received her naturopathic medical degree from Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington. She has been in private practice in Tucson, Arizona, since 1995.

Dr. Hiell has received additional postgraduate training in numerous areas of study including women's healthcare, adjunctive cancer therapies, mind-body techniques, and metabolic medicine. For two years, she served as the naturopathic preceptor in the weekly case conferences held at the Program for Integrative Medicine with Dr. Andrew Weil at the University of Arizona. She is a monthly featured columnist for the Women to Women series in the Journal of Longevity and is a writer for various other publications. She has lectured around the country on topics including herbal medicine, women's healthcare and menopausal issues, and other topics in natural healthcare.
